InterEconomic Bridge - Bridging the gap to the Digital Enterprise

InterEconomicBridge® defines an infrastructure-based strategic model, which allows businesses to re-launch themselves as their Digital Replication. In this context, entities are said to belong to the "old" or "new" economy, in according with their pertaining practices. The methodology includes 5 phases to a comprehensive re-enactment of the current business.

T'BRIDGE's main purpose is to bridge the gap between legacy organizations and the nascent Digital Enterprise Models, by providing businesses with the means to turn themselves into its digital homologues.

T'BRIDGE builds a business digital projection which imbues current knowledge and business practices into an adjuvant environment that does not resist the new Electronic Domain Technologies.

T'BRIDGE quickens the enactment of a mirror digital entity of the mother company, which ingrains a digital offshoot, without losing the capabilities of the mother company.

T'BRIDGE provides an innovative framework to quicken the path to the new digital world, while lowering the uncertainty inherent to the sort of transformation intrinsic to business restructuring.

T'BRIDGE contends that current business practices inhibit the effective use of technologies designed for a different setting. Organizational Culture and Politics, human factors and Physical Assets investment levels also contribute to this implicit resilience in the business, to become the same every time actions are taken to tweak its status quo.

In trying to inoculate the business with isolated implementations of new technologies the business become sorts of a "technology jungle", getting more complex at every step we think we are making progress...So adding costs not the required functionalities, albeit some "productivity enhancement" resulting from the application.

The Business' Digital Hologram© is the enacted entity which projects the current business into the Digital Economy. The BDH comprehensively mirror the current business into its Digital Replica or Homologue.

The Business' Digital Hologram is an innovative concept which quicken conversion (no evolution) to the Digital Business Domain in such a way, that it allots current business capabilities (core competencies, knowledge, brand, customers constituencies, intangible and Intellectual assets) to the new entity, preserving the mother company domain strengths and intrinsic competitive advantages; while, at the same time, ingraining only New Economy accepted practices in the revived business entity.

The GIST of this concept is to address a painstakingly self-effaced truth: That businesses are just mixing up technology and practices, but inside the rate of change is slow. In the meantime, citizens and stakeholders in general, are losing time and money that could, otherwise, be propelling growth and stability.

Current technology implementations are persuasively push-sold into the business by deft account executives, whose main drives are really "hardware or software sales goals"; and not value-added implementations of their offers, from the organization vantage point.

We are confronted with the fact that, even with the enactment of Digital Signatures Acts and a slew of related laws being promulgated around the world, most entities will continue their current practices for long, due to the following Inhibitors:

  1. Current business practices: Some businesses practices are so rutted, that changing them may mean changing the people. Through the years, people develop relationships and they will, up to a certain point, protect one another at the expense of the company.

  2. Huge Base of Capital Assets: Companies with very high stakes in infrastructure are naturally slow to take aggressive re-structuring because of the necessary amortization levied on the business physical assets.

  3. The "Human Factor": Big companies and middle-sized ones develop certain "status quo", in which people resides deeming their position more or less permanent. Usually, the stakes for these folks (in the form of salary, stock options…) are very high to risk innovating "beyond a reasonable point".

  4. The Generational Factor: Many members of the high level staff were educated in an environment which did not include the realm of the "New Economy" and, even when they are trying, these technologies really may pose an obnoxious take-in theme.

Fortunately, there are Catalyzers, which are being overlooked by software builders and research companies alike….These catalyzers, if correctly used, may accelerate the necessary "New Economy Uptake". And the best part is, once the Vision is acquired there's not need to sell the technology, it's taken for granted you will need it to "enact" the mirror digital entity. And the practices….Obviously, you will need to fill in experts in the process to assure management certitude and low risk.

The Catalyzers are:

  1. Legal Framework: Digital realm laws are (being) promulgated in almost every country.

  2. Current Knowledge: Five/Ten years ago e-business was a fancy term, now is current practice.

  3. Technological Maturity: Available technology can do the job "for real".

  4. Real Options Posture: CxOs are required to take a posture regarding the strategic options available to their companies. They MUST, either take a "wait and see", a "Real Options" or an "Orchestrator" seat.

T'Bridge is implemented thru 5 unambiguous phases to bring about the Digital Hologram. Each phase has a precedence relationship, meaning the next is not executed till the predecessor phase is not concluded (tiered delivery). This sequencing assures that investor's money is not expended without results. Also, deliveries are clearly defined for each phase.

On time, original business departments become "externalized" resource providers to the Digital Hologram. Location becomes unimportant, as long as the services are rendered. Later on, these externalized entities may even provide services to other business entities inside or outside their vertical markets. Granted, they are support (context) units and not core business or strategic units. Even legacy technologies become "resources" to the virtual company. All "today's business content" is carefully and unobtrusively included.

But what makes this concept "tick" is the set of capabilities in the Digital Hologram are not constrained by the rutted processes, people conflicts, existing practices or simple human greed arising from leavening a "new company" into an old one.

T'BRIDGE ratchets up innovation and current business initiatives which are beneficial to all parties and stakeholders (The host business, the software and hardware vendors, the consultants…): Once this "vision" is accepted, everybody just rallies to sell. No need for building the "problem" the suits the solution. T'BRIDGEset forth an entire new way of looking into the same problems. A desirable option for road-weary, presentation-tired software and hardware account executives…

T'BRIDGE is also a disruptive innovation: Industry players willing to outperform their competitors will do so because T'BRIDGEwill change the rules software and hardware sale, by reverting the current "push" model to a more edible "pull" model.

Play-For-Success a dystopian satire comedy show to entertain diverse audiences...

Play for Success  is a  "framework model" for a repetitive satirical comedy contrived to entertain diverse audiences with animal characters mocking  human behavior in a variety of settings or real life contexts, such as those happening inside organizations like Schools, government departments, corporations business units, neighborhoods, social endeavors, or any sort of setting wherein human beings strive to get ahead in life...

The basic idea behind Play-for-Success is a Plot in which, Cartoon-Like Characters, represented by  selected animal species, mock human behavior in a  well-rounded real-life context.  The play intends to pose a serious challenge and provides  exquisite dialogues ,to summon the audience  to partake in the drama by interpreting the consequences of the portrayed behaviors.

The Plot is set up with a purpose: To get across certain insight, message or truth and therefore, helping  the target-audience to better fathoms the consequences of a particular behavior in the set-up.

The playwright must strive to construe the stageplay  in such a witty and clever manner, as to show a complete story with regards to the pertinent context. By approaching the issues in the quirkiest possible way, through irony, satire and   carefully tweaked dialogues, the dramatist must do, a bit more than  get that insight across.  He must straddle and rattle off the audience through a  mysterious, undecipherable "maze" of actions and counterpoising actions, gracefully conducive to an ending constrained by a reasonable time.

We, humans, are circled by a certain "situational context" and therefore perform according to a setting or stage in which we are obliged to play a certain role.  These roles are played differently by different people.  The stage might be a Government Organization or one of its departments or instances like the White House, or the "Palacio Nacional" and the "Secretariat of State", as they are called in Dominican Republic. It might be the United States Congress, or The Supreme Court in either country.

The stage might also refer to a private-sector organization, a kindergarten, a primary or middle-grade school.  In sooth, any sort of contrivance wherein people are forced to interact with one another in a more or less competitive-like environment.  Competition arises from the fact that there are not "enough men that comply with the genetic benefit and genetic resource principles" for women to choose from; or that there are no enough highly-paid positions for all the employees in a firm that would like to upscale...and so on!.

These environmental-based depictions will be ONE of the SHOW MAIN FEATURES and as such, they should present a detailed graphic behavior to be played out during a single show time. Competition, of "the worst and the best type", should be played out in full.

Furthermore, the show should be based upon scientific references and pertaining domain knowledge. Content scripts should be prepared by a qualified playwright but, expert’s guidance and content provision should be definitely a must. Experts should be convened, in according with the field or setting the correspondent show session will deal with.

The characters must act out their roles. The selfish, the bossy, the capitalist, the scum, the rookie, the naif, the idealist, the money-grubber, the social entrepreneur, the good, the bad and the ugly, the "weasel", the lobbyist, the influence peddler, the wheeler-dealer... All of these characters’ demeanor should find its way to get across while the show session plays out.

Play-for-Success could be launched as an Educational Program: A series of stageplays whereby the students, at any age, could be taught about values and "memes" our society is fervently looking forward to regain.

It might also be a TV series or a cartoon.  The quintessential theme is the depiction of human behavior by animals; but it could also offshoot to a series of shows, comedies, stage plays, drama concerning different social contexts, whereby the "Producers" would like to get across a certain insight aimed at a Target-Audience.  It might be a "Franchisable Business Model", along the same lines...

It differs from recent and older works in terms of variability on the context.  I will mention just one or two instances which, I have hastily researched to make sure I am not doing an oxymoron from something that many other people have already set forth.

On one hand, delving into a play I discovered just while writing these lines:  "Stephen Svoboda stepping into the worthy shoes (of George Orwell and Aristophanes) with the sweet and endearing The Penguin Tango, a lovingly satirical comedy now making its New York debut at the Fringe Festival". The Penguin Tango revolves around "the romantic adventures of eight penguins in Germany's Bremerhaven Zoo".  The characters are constrained by a "context".  Humans are tweaking their "situation" and they don't quite understand why but, they are not depicting human behavior whatsoever, albeit the stage play shows the deeds of the penguins trying to maintain their specific "pecking order" setting...

On other hand, The Animal Farm, "Animal Farm is a dystopian novella by George Orwell. Published in England on 17 August 1945, the book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin Era before World War II " (Wikipedia). Play-for-Success is not meant to be such an extensive work like Orwell's but, there's a resemblance in the depiction Animals make of the "Human Context" in Orwell's work.  So, to pay tribute, I must state that this work follows in the footsteps of Orwell's, albeit re-stating a mostly variable context, an iterative or replicable framework and a shorter real-life story.

Disclaimer: Since I am not an expert on this field and this is just something contrived with a process I call "Strategic Craft" wherein I wake up in the very early morning with a "Business Model" in my head and I just set out to "write it" in my daughter's laptop.

Finally, I will only toss up a suggestion regarding the relationship and associations that could be done between animals and humans to depict the different characters. I will reel out now some the roles and the animals:

1. The Hypo might represent the Bossy type guy who’s always rattling off orders all around.

2. The selfish, treacherous being might be the Wasp.

3. The collaborator well-intentioned organization “guy” might be a Bee.

4. The lion is a boss, but one that everybody fears.

5. The Ant is the Rookie everybody step on.

6. The Mosquito might well be a “sucker" who always feathers his own nest.
7. A noble woman could be depicted by a "Butterfly".

Well that's all folks!

The Santo Domingo’s Airborne ExpressWay™ (Expreso Aéreo)

The Santo Domingo’s Airborne ExpressWay is an engineering undertaking designed to address transport inefficiencies that arises from a legacy of missteps in underdeveloped countries main cities. The mixed‐up so‐called Avenues, with traffic stops at every corner contribute directly to the general low productivity state affecting these countries. Being the most populated and economically active city in Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo, the capital, is a very inefficient city, from a “road user” vantage point. It is usual to take an hour to go from west area to the center of the city (roughly ten kilometers), mainly due to the sheer number of stops. Built with the seemingly appearance of a highway, the Santo Domingo avenues are a misconception in terms transport effectiveness. With a traffic light at every corner you drag along the way, in utmost frustration. To make something bad even worst, the government has conceived the AMET’s solution. The AMET is something similar, in name, to the New York MTA, but with the traits many x‐institutions portray in underdeveloped countries like ours. Buses are a wreck, threadbare and a visually displayed parade of an awful negligence incumbent on transport authorities. The Airborne ExpressWay (“Expreso Aéreo” in Spanish), is a pertinent solution to carry out the task of making Santo Domingo a more advanced transport‐efficient city. This expressway should go airborne, as its name implies. It has to be built strong, with a certain technologies to make the “platforms” as thin as possible in order to counterpoise high speed air currents that are possible during the Hurricane Season usually affecting the Caribbean Area from July to the end of October. The airborne feature goes a little further in requirements than their counterpart in other countries, namely the United States. Santo Domingo has evolved in chaotic manner. Many tight two lanes streets end up at one of the so‐called avenues. At many corners, a traffic light will stop traffic for as much as 100 seconds. A turtle might outrun you at these sluggish safaris. Going from point A to B becomes a nightmare at rush hour, with endless vehicle chains, going forward in a start‐stop bumper‐to‐bumper foray. The proposed Airborne feature has to be a serpentine going around buildings and taking the best airborne route. In terms of design the airborne feature is the core issue to resolve. It has to be a City’s Monument, an elegant solution to the problem, with intrinsic effectiveness to resolve the traffic requirements. It has to be “Thin” to counterpoise high‐speed winds. It might, even better, have a design that will use air speed to fix the structure in position. I guess by recirculating the air with vents, extended at specific posts in the high structure, it might be feasible to channel wind force so as to take advantage of it to keep the structure in place. Somewhat like moving the wind around or using its force to make the structure stronger. The higher the speed, the stronger it should become. Thus, high speed winds will not damage the structure. It has to be fine architecture and engineering technology built‐in the structural design. The Serpentine feature means the road might go around the city taking the best routes. Because it is airborne it does not have to adjust to available space making an elegant snake‐like structure is a most. The serpent structure should be understood as a “flexibility” requirement. Adaptive runways sizzling around buildings and cluttered areas, gently departing from the ground, circling obstacle buildings and structures, dazzling straight over the air, and smoothly blending with the entourage of neighborhoods, parks and highly populated areas. It has to become such an engineering feat that the Airborne Roads of Santo Domingo should become as renowned as the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower. The Roads Support Columns must be erected with the highest security standards in place. Due to the requirement that the “serpentine” goes around the city as needed, most of the bearing columns will be located in populated areas. The Bearing Columns bases should be designed to cope with environment. A children park and gardens will surround its base. The Transport Platforms (Runways) where the road will be laid should be as thin as possible, and with counterpoising measures for high speed winds. To avoid vehicles from falling off the road to the ground, special holdings have to be erected in the sides. The lane containment feature should be a strong but not sturdy or awkward‐looking piece of the structure. Everything has to be an elegant design. The Exits should be planned as cohabitation between the existing Avenues and Streets with the new Airborne Routes. Exits should be conceived to chime in the existing streets without much disturbance on the environment. As everything it should be considered to be an elegant design. Merging the existing road and the airborne routes might prove to be an exploit in itself. The Exits design should be a two‐pronged folk. Two problems must be addressed at the same time. How to access ramps going up to the airborne road, when you are departing from your original place and how to access ramps going down to the existing surroundings once you have arrived to your destination. Again sheer elegance is required to cause the minimal effect on the environment. Also the outer looks of the exits should be conceived as to blend with the environment. I guess conceiving a display or gallery like feature will help to take advantage of it for advertising or art work display. A mural paint might also be considered as a solution. Dominican painters will be charged with the exploit, once the SDA ExpressWay is in place going from place to place should become a pleasant foray. Signaling and Maps will make it easy to use.... ...With time, the Santo Domingo’s Airborne Expressway would become a marvelous architecture endeavor and international touristic attraction like the Malaysian Twin Towels, The Eiffel Tower, or the Statue of Liberty.
